Oktoberfest Arrives

Brian Golden - Thursday, September 19, 2013

Boise finally got its first breath of fall overnight, giving all our air conditioners a well deserved vacation!  The sudden dip in temperature got me thinking about fall beer, and nothing says fall beer more than Oktoberfest!

This annual union of bratwurst and beer, dating back to Munich in the early 1800's, is a perfect opportunity to try the spices and seasonings of fall brews, and we have plenty to choose from! We have Paulaner and Hacker Pschorr if you like the classics, Payette Oktoberfest and Crooked Fence Evil Harvest if you prefer to keep it close to home, and many more in the middle.

If you are looking for all of these in one spot, combined with sausages and beer pretzels, there is a great downtown celebration going on this Saturday (The first day of the Munich celebration), from 3:00-10:00 PM @ 6th and Main.  $12 gets you a mug and your first beer, so come down and hoist a stein with us!  Look up "Old Boise Oktoberfest" on the world wide interwebs if you need more information.
